Offset Festival 2009
David Livingstone - 21/09/2009
5-6 September, Hainault Forest
Well the weather is great, there are no queue's and parking is only 100m from the main arena.
A great start to the day, and not many festivals can boast these 3 golden nuggets on their opening morning, but Offset can!
Tickets are very well priced, location is in the woods, parking is free.......... I could go on, but all I will say is GO, cos this festival is something quite different from all the rest. The main festival area is set up in huge circle making it really simple to get to all parts of the arena with very little effort, and in my book that is a massive plus. There are plenty food stalls, bars and a very funky big ass tent which sells second had retro/ vintage clothes.... and they are really, really good and cheap. Needless to say, by the time the first band came on most of the paying punters were walking around looking top banana and biggin' up the retro rock image, what a great idea Offset. This is what a boutique festival should be, a great set up and a barrow load of great bands, with the likes of The Horrors, The Slits, The Futureheads, Metronomy, Good Shoes to name but a few, providing a barage of tunes to make my ears bleed. This is a very well priced festival given the amount of top row bands and acts. Hats of to the event management, i loved it! and will be back next year.
