Melt Festival, the Mad Max inspired post-industrial musical mecca, returns once again to Ferropolis, Germany from 13 – 15 July 2018. Click here for tickets…
Joining the likes of previously announced headliners The xx and Florence + The Machine next year will be Karin Dreijer Andersson aka Fever Ray. Having previously previously played in ‘The City of Iron’ as one half of The Knife, in 2018 the Swedish singer/songwriter will return solo to play material off her critically acclaimed new album Plunge; her first in eight years.
Joining her will be Seattle based electronic duo Odesza, whose current record A Moment Apart has received numerous Grammy Award nominations; Odd Future prodigy The Internet, and Canadian avant jazz renegades Badbadnotgood.
Continuing a time-honoured tradition of programming the hottest nascent talent and rising stars from across the world before many of their contemporaries, in 2018 Melt will welcome cloud rap stalwart Rin; Finland’s finest green-haired pop export Alma; BBC 2018 Sound Poll nominees IAMDDB and experimental Scottish producer Lanark Artefax (Live).
Of course, no Melt would be complete without an all star cast of some of the most in demand DJs of the moment. Confirmed for next year are Andhim, Nastia, Kim Ann Foxman, Inga Mauer, Jayda G, Zenker Brothers, Fatima Al Quadiri, DJ Seinfeld and many more.
Melt Festival is based in Ferropolis, an hour south of Berlin. Famously referred to as ‘The City of Iron’, Melt often ranks highly on lists of the world’s most unusual and striking festival sites. A former coal mine that is home to a number of enormous cranes and towering diggers, the machines create a truly spectacular backdrop for post-industrial raving – a German speciality.
