Who are you and where are you from?
Sibling band from Birmingham UK called Miccoli, taken from our surname. It’s hard to pick a time when we formed the band as we’ve always been involved in music from an early age and through school, playing together and writing songs and it kind of grew from there.
What inspired you to get into music?
Our parent’s vinyl collection really had a big impact on the style of music we produce today. From Motown classics like Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, Jackson’s to Queen, Fleetwood Mac, The Police, Simon and Garfunkel. Being exposed to those type of sounds early on really built the foundations for our love of music.
What have you done?
At the beginning of this year we released our debut EP 1/2 which was well received by listeners and critics, it also featured on USA BDS Charts. The official video was aired on VH1 and MTV in UK as well as music channels across USA and Canada.
What are you like live?
We’ve recently finished a USA tour including venues such as The Viper Rooms which is a kind right of passage for musicians to play there. This summer we also played Sound City and Sun Down festivals. Our live set is a stripped back sound really letting the harmonises to do the talking.
What makes you different?
For a start we are all siblings, there are not that many sibling bands out there. Our unique sound comes from our harmonies. You really get a unique sound when siblings sing together due to similar voices/vocal chords.
Physical vs Downloading vs Streaming…How do you listen to music?
Depending on where we are we listen on all platforms. If we are on tour it’ll be streams and downloads. When we are in the studio it’ll be more CD and vinyl records. Spotify and streaming services are a really good way to share music around. I think the physicality of owning vinyl and CD records can’t be replaced. It’s something that’s tangible that you own.
What have you been listening to?
Our tastes are pretty old school, Fleetwood Mac, Sting, The Police, Don McLean, U2 are favourite for when we are on the road especially.
What are your aspirations for the future?
Sky’s the limit really. Grammys, world domination. Set to release our debut album next year called Arrhythmia.
