AAA Favourites – Hidden Orchestra – are gearing up to hit the road, starting Monday with a string of dates in Germany, including one date at Berlin’s Lido. Having released their excellent new album, Dawn Chorus, earlier this year, the orchestral electronica ensemble have plenty of new material to showcase, including latest single ‘Alyth’ (released today!). Led by composer/producer Joe Acheson, Hidden Orchestra utilise live instruments to create a hypnotic blend of trip-hop, nu-jazz and neo-classical – a sound that truly thrives in a live environment.
Their ‘Dawn Chorus’ European AV Tour will bring spellbinding sounds and bespoke visuals to ten countries. Revered for their compelling shows, Hidden Orchestra’s core live band combines the duelling beats of two full drum kits (played by Jamie Graham and Tim Lane), piano and violin from Poppy Ackroyd (recently signed to One Little Indian as a solo artist), and Acheson’s bass and electronics. Recent shows include a set at the Royal Albert Hall, add to a dizzying run of gigs this decade including sell out AV shows at London’s Union Chapel and St John at Hackney, and hundreds of headlines and festivals.
