Pharoah Sanders To Play Berlin Tomorrow!
aaamusic | On 13, Nov 2017
You don’t get much more legendary than the man himself, Pharoah Sanders! J.A.W. and their co-partners Morphine Records have done an astounding job in getting the free-jazz master to Berlin for not only his only German show of the year, but his first show in Berlin with his Quartet in 14 years! Pharoah will no doubt be wielding his sax to take Festsaal Kreuzberg on one hell of a spiritual journey.
Having performed with Coltrane and Sun Ra back in the ’60s, Sanders really is one of the last giants of jazz still working today, and that’s mighty impressive given that he’s 77 years young. This will be a concert to remember.
Pharoah Sanders Quartet Lineup:
Pharoah Sanders | Tenor sax
William Henderson | Piano
Oly Hayhurst | Double Bass
Gene Calderazzo | Drums
Support comes from Rabih Beaini and HUNEE (DJ Set), the latter of which kicks things off at 8pm tomorrow, Tuesday November 14th. Don’t be late.
