Major Lazer and BARCADI Team Up!

Diplo’s mega electronic and dancehall trio, festival favourites Major Lazer, have joined up with BACARDI for a partnership they’re calling the “Sound of Rum” concept. The chart-topping DJs and producers dropped not one, but two new tracks at the launch of the first “Sound of Rum” event: ‘Front of the Line’ and the massive ‘Know No Better’ featuring Camila Cabello from American girl group Fifth Farmony, who was also a surprise stage guest at the show. Check out the video above!
Major Lazer – aka the aforementioned Diplo, Walshy Fire and Jillionaire – kicked off this project with rum giants BARCADI at the start of the year, and consider “Sound of Rum” a movement to bring fans of diverse and differing music genres (like reggae, hip-hop, dancehall and electronic) together. In many ways, BARCADI and Major Lazer working together makes a lot sense, with the trio’s music borrowing heavily from Caribbean music, but presenting it with a fresh, new twist.
The launch event was also the first chance for people to check out Major Lazer’s Limited Edition Rum – we bet it was delicious! As well as music and rum, the event also featured 4 “island inspired” restaurants pop-ups
Expect more events and experiences from this new collaboration. Major Lazer will also be hitting the festival circuit in full flow this summer, having been busy in the studio working on new music, including this new ‘hit in waiting’. I mean, this is Diplo and Major Lazer, of course these new tunes were going to be epic and become summer favourites!
