NOVA TWINS – Bassline B*tch

With a song title which instantly grabs you by the scruff of your neck, duo Amy Love (Vocals/ Guitar) and Georgia South (Bass/ Backing Vocals) serve attitude on a scorching hot plate. ‘Bassline B*tch’ is a combination of punk hardcore, overlaid by an urban flow of Love’s distorted spoken vocals, which are reminiscent of Gwen Stefani’s No Doubt days but definitely less sugary sweet.
Their punk influences even seep into the lyrics, “…fast track, the Clash, London is calling back” symbolising their love for the genre. As the song implies the bass commands this song, due to South’s favoured amalgamation of roaring bass and FX pedals. Nova Twins’ unconventional sound and fusion showcases how far the creative spectrum of classification has changed and are direct a product of our modern generation; where musical categories’ lines are continuously being blurred beyond our control. If you’ve been searching for something that is far removed from the norm, then ‘Bassline B*tch’ is it.
