Who are you and where are you from?
My name is Kriswontwo, I’m from Copenhagen, Denmark
What inspired you to get into music?
One of the main reasons was Georgia Anne Muldrow, I wanted to make beats like her! I had been digging into lots of different music my whole life – so when I started creating it turned out very experimental, because I like to explore and learn new stuff.
What have you done?
I want you guys to check out the Ms. One EP that I produced for Georgia Anne Muldrow. You can also peep my band called WEON which consists of the otherworldly bass player MonoNeon and myself. We recently released our second EP a few of weeks ago.
What are you like live?
I haven’t played that many live shows. One time I supported Quadron, they are really dope! But actually I prefer the studio from the stage.
What makes you different?
I think it’s because I don’t try to be like anybody. Sometimes I catch myself trying to sound like Georga though (LOL), but yea I think I’ve developed a really unique sound that’s raw and free. People need this right now, something to shake them up. I mean it’s like every time you turn on the radio it’s just zombie music…
Physical vs Downloading vs Streaming…How do you listen to music?
I like all of it. I do think musicians and industry people tend to want to fight the tendencies instead of just reading them and being ahead of them. That’s a complete weakness and why the music industry is a total mess right now. Mysel, I listen through a lot of different medias, YouTube, iTunes, vinyl, CD… I actually try to avoid Spotify though, the way they rip off musicians is shameless.
What have you been listening to?
The new Declaime album is crazy! Kamasi Washington’s new album, wow! That latest mixtape from Talib Kweli is killer, maaan! Lot’s of great new music!
What are your aspirations for the future?
My debut album came out on September 14th. It’s called CEREMONI and features Skyzoo, Georgia Anne Muldrow, Oh No, Omar and a lot more great people. It’s being released by SomeOthaShip Connect on vinyl and mp3.
