AAA Music Approved: Sticky Blood
aaamusic | On 27, Sep 2015
Who are you and where are you from?
Jamie Shields and Andy Nicholson (aka Sticky Blood). I have been lucky enough to be in the industry for a good few years now, and also went through college and uni on various music courses. Andy and I met a couple of years ago and we formed Clubs & Spades with two MCs Maticmouth and Shin. We have remained working together on various projects since.
What inspired you to get into music?
No one thing inspired me. I have always loved music. I try not to get bogged down in one genre, but obviously I love trap, hip hop and all things urban.
What have you done?
Getting a First in my Music Technology degree is probably what I am most proud of, as are my parents! If I can manage to keep making enough money-making music, I will be proud of that too!
What are you like live?
I love playing live. Andy and I are both musicians, so we can play bass, guitar, keys or drums. We are multi-talented!
What makes you different?
Being a producer and being able to play various instruments independently sets us apart from most producers.
Physical vs Downloading vs Streaming…How do you listen to music?
We love Apple Music. The radio channels and streaming on this new platform is our favourite at the minute. It was great when we recently released our debut EP, ID… to see our tracks up on the site.
What have you been listening to?
Apple Music is my best new discovery. I’m not really an album listener, but I’m currently liking and listening to J Cole, Dre and Kendrick.
What are your aspirations for the future?
We are currently working on our Red Bull Session EP, for which we worked with Roses Gabor, Coco, Snowy, Hekki, Terri Walker and Tom Prior. Hoping to get this released at the end of November. Our aspirations are to keep making good music and be successful…and keep enjoying ourselves.
