Sponsored Video: 7 ways to Free The Joy | 10 second songs

| On 11, Mar 2015

Cadbury have unleashed this rather hilarious little video clip as part of their 7 Ways to Free Your Joy series.

It features Anthony Vincent singing the ‘Yes Sir, I Can Boogie’ song from the recent Cadbury TV advertisements in seven different styles, representing the seven different varieties of Cadbury Dairy Milk. Man, has Anthony Vincent got a set of pipes! Who is Anthony Vincent? He is the star of the ‘Ten Second Songs’ YouTube channel. And his rendition of the ‘Yes Sir, I Can Boogie’ tune seamlessly moves through seven music styles.

First, there is the original style of the classic 70s disco Baccara hit (remember them?), in celebration of the original Dairy Milk. Then comes the rocking Gun N’ Roses-esque version, signifying the Oreo Dairy Milk, as both GNR and Oreo are “American Classics”. Third is the fruity pop Bruno Mars version, for the Dairy Milk Fruit & Nut (has there been a better partnership in confectionary?). Next is the Whole Nut-repping Johnny Cash way, delivered with a folksy country twang; both are, of course, “legendary favourites”. Fifth is the “edgy” Daim-featuring Dairy Milk celebrating part, with an EDM party vibe credited to the uber-cool Deadmau5. The penultimate style is the operatic, classical leaning sounds of Il Divo, attributed to the Turkish (delight) Dairy Milk, for those who enjoy things a “little highbrow”. The final style, #7, has Anthony Vincent doing his best Frank Sinatra impression, with the smooth crooner representing – yep, you guessed it… – the smooth Caramel Dairy Milk flavor.

The clip is hugely enjoyable, which is fitting since its purpose is to support of Cadbury’s 7 Ways to Free Your Joy campaign. And by joy, Cadbury doesn’t mean euphoric epiphanies or life-changing moments, but the simple, inherent joy that we all have; that we are all capable of finding within ourselves. Well, Anthony Vincent’s application of his ridiculous range to this absolute pop classic will make it pretty easy to free your joy.
