NOT SCIENTISTS – Just Break Me

Is it 2004? I feel like I’ve been taken right back to when I was first really started to get excited about guitar music. With snare rolls, tastefully put together guitar riffs and a crescendo that results in pure musical ecstasy it’s hard to work out how some people get it so wrong.
Alright, Not Scientists’ harmonies in ‘Just Break Me’ might not be the tightest thing you’ve ever heard, but the effect that runs through them gives that wonderfully elusive live feeling and the sheer enthusiasm of the band to smash through every last chord change shows that there’s still very much a place for the guitar heavy sound that so shaped my teenage years. You can’t help but feel every muscle in your body start to tense up as the guitars have their way with your ears and rush through your brain as if you’ve somehow managed to get a plectrum lodged in there.
Oh what a time it is to be alive.
