| On 23, Jan 2015

Cliff-Richard-2015-l

Cliff Richard has firmly established himself as an important part of musical history, being the only UK artist to ever achieve number 1 singles in 5 consecutive decades (1950 – 1990) and being the 3rd top selling singles artist in UK history (behind Elvis and the Beatles). This has made him a national treasure in the UK, and Richard was famously knighted in 1995. This is not just through the fantastic records that he has provided us with over the years, but it is also through his philanthropic work and other work in the media, including films and TV. Richard is most famous for his music however, and he is still going strong with some exciting plans for 2015 as he approaches his 75th birthday.

All these shows saw an enormous sale of Cliff Richard tickets as expected. In October last year, Richard announced that in celebration of his 75th birthday he would be touring the UK and playing a series of special shows at seven different cities. In addition to the countless classic records over the years, Richard is also famous for delivering captivating live shows which still have as much passion and energy as they did when he first played with his former backing group, The Shadows, during the 50’s. He is set to play Birmingham, Sheffield, Liverpool, Manchester, Glasgow and Nottingham before several dates in the Capital. This is not to be missed, and in celebration of his birthday it is sure to be a memorable tour which can be enjoyed by all.

Cliff Richard has an extensive back-catalogue and has consistently released albums every few years since the 50’s. He has 100 albums to his name after releasing The Fabulous Rock n Roll Songbook in 2013, meaning that he has countless classic singles over the years which he is sure to play on his upcoming tour. A few of his better known singles include “Wired for Sound”, “We Don’t Talk Anymore”, “Devil Woman”, “Summer Holiday”, “In the Country” and “Living Doll”. Richard is considered by many, including John Lennon, to be the first rock and roll artist in the UK, taking the country by storm before the Beatles arrived. Over the years he moved away from this rock and roll sound, and instead opted for a more mainstream, pop-rock sound as well as creating Christian rock (faith is a large part of his life).

It has been an extraordinary career for Richard who is an important musical figure, but also an important media personality in the UK as he has never been far from the public eye. He has shown no sign of slowing down just yet, and fans will be eager to see this class act perform what is sure to be one of the musical highlights of the year when he goes out on tour to celebrate his 75th birthday. This is a must see show and should be a fantastic celebration of his birthday, as well as all the seminal music that he has delivered consistently through every single decade since the late 1950s.
