GOOD LUCK MOUNTAIN – Too

Americana alternative country band Good Luck Mountain is led by singer songwriter Mike Ferrio, once with 90s folk rock band Tandy. It’s music is reminiscent of artists like REM and Van Morrison.
The band comprises Mike Ferrio (vocals, guitar, piano and harmonica), Jason Mercer (bass), Konrad Meisner (drums), Eleanor Whitmore (violin, mandolin and vocals), Chris Masterson (guitar, mandolin and vocals) and Tony Luria (piano). Ana Egge , Matt Mays and Malcolm Holcombe also help with vocal harmonies.
Too, the second album from Good Luck Mountain, recorded at Atomic Sound in New York, is warm and eerily inventive.
The graceful and meditative ‘Morning Moon’ is playfully spooky whilst ‘White Calico Flower’ is a reflective love song with gentle changes in arrangement. ‘Maps of the Moon’ has mellow harmonies that are catchy and dramatic and ‘The Seawall’, initially quiet and relaxed, has a mood that’s strange, aggressive and unsettling. ‘Angels’ is an elegant and atmospheric song that sounds Appalachian.
Too is a passionate album from talented, expressive musicians with a loose and unusual style. Collectively they create music with a feeling of spaciousness and their intense, curious songs have a sense of mystery and originality.
