CLOCKWORK RADIO – Sitting Bull

The title ‘Sitting Bull‘ may hold memories of a patient Native American within and the approach taken by Clockwork Radio to this song is certainly a patient one, and indeed one that pays off.
There are some lovely bass licks which, for me at least, make this song a cut above the rest. This could have easily been written any time within the last 20-30 years, the timeless nature of the sounds making it so easy to listen to and each element contributes to what is ultimately a remarkable track. You can get swept up in the lush harmonies, the unpredictable chord changes, perfectly adjusted guitar tone and a rhythm section that could provide Flea and Chad Smith a good run for their money.
There are hints of RHCP, QOTSA and various other acronyms in the sound of this beauty from Clockwork Radio, yet ultimately the song they have created is their own. And what a peach it is.
