JOSH TAERK – Josh

Josh Taerk, from Toronto in Canada, is a folk rock guitarist and song writer influenced by Bruce Springsteen, Counting Crows and Jackson Browne. His philosophy seems to be “Life is not a destination, it’s the journey that makes us who we are.”
Josh’s 14 track debut album Josh, released on Misty Creek Records on 28th April, 2014, includes four acoustic bonus tracks.
‘I’ll Live for You’ , the catchy and energetic opening track, sets a soothing vocal tone for the rest of the album. ‘Casie’, his first UK single, is an emotional ballad about a love interest with a delicate instrumental background whilst ‘My Angel’ continues with romantic, poetic imagery. ‘Smell the Roses’ , the first song Josh ever wrote, begins softly but swiftly develops a heavier beat, and this followed by the extremely passionate ‘Grace.’
Josh creates candid, introspective lyrics about his personal experiences and combines them with pleasant and friendly acoustic melodies. Some critics see his music as tired, cheesy and clichéd but, quite clearly, there are committed fans who don’t agree. They praise him for being joyous, credible and refreshing. Perhaps music lovers should adopt the relaxed and optimistic mood of Josh’s songs and patiently wait to see how his talents develop.
