Saturday 21st June 2014
The Willows, SG4 7PH – Hertfordshire
Taking place on the 21st June, the longest day of 2014, ONE DAY embraces the spirit of the summer solstice leaving everyday life behind for one day and venturing out to the lush green fields of Hertfordshire.
Breaking out of the confines of city life for an urban detox, spirits will be set free to dance in the open air within an intimate country setting, underneath the sunshine by day and starry sky at night. With a capacity of 500 people, the soundtrack will be set by Rush Hour Records Hunee, Tom Trago, San Proper and Maxi Mill, and by night Marcus Worgull, Sven Wiseman, Konstantin Sibold and Jacques Adda.
ONE DAY will take place in Langley just outside of Knebworth Park, 10 minutes from Stevenage train station and a 35 minute drive from London. From Stevenage train station there will be a free shuttle bus going every 30 minutes, to take people to and from the site. Stages at the event will be hosted by London and Leed’s imprint Bade Records and Brixton’s Saints Don’t Sleep.
With pop-up parties outside the M25 a distant memory, and London awash with one-day festivals, ONE DAY is changing things up a little. The forests and fields north of the capital will be the location for a face-off between master practitioners from Amsterdam and Berlin. Artists from Rush Hour Records and Innervisions will sharpen their needles, ready to battle in a countryside collision of house, disco and techno, surrounded by barbecues, cocktails and a crisp funktion one sound.
It’s time to get out of town, even if just for ONE DAY.
