‘Real Life’ is the product of London based singer-songwriter Molly Beanland. Inspired by iconic acts of the past such as New Order and Kate Bush, the record is a slice of modern pop sugar-coated with 80s electronic beats and rhythms, which compliment her vintage style vocals perfectly. Glittering synths and a pounding beat pushes the song forward and makes an instant impact just through the intro alone, fading out to a faint echo of Beanland singing, “Real life ain’t enough…”, hinting at the need for the escape we need every now and then from our stressful realities. Catchy in its own right the song does not necessarily break new ground, but makes for comfortable listening and is currently available on iTunes to purchase. ‘Real Life’ is taken from Beanland’s upcoming EP Night Dreams which is due for release on May 12th.
