Originally having this song debuted on Vogue’s website, it is a sign that this band is going to be set up for big things and it isn’t a surprise after listening to this track. Taken from their recently released Gooey EP, via Paul Epworth’s record label Wolf Tone Records, ‘Holiest’ is a combination of effortless cool and sparse soundscapes. Featuring drum machines, synths and minimal beats which perfectly highlight and intertwine with the sultry vocals of Tei-Shi, a native of New York. The song has an ethereal quality, which would appeal to any fans of the chill wave and the indie electronic genre Glass Animals have come to associate themselves with. It’s no wonder Epworth was eager to snap them up, as one of his first initial signings to his label in the UK. This only gives us a taste of what’s in store and I personally can’t wait to see what their debut LP ZABA due to be released in June has to offer.
