REVEREND AND THE MAKERS – The Only One

Being a music reviewer for AAAmusic has allowed me access to tunes that I wouldn’t necessarily come across on my own, and when I am directed to music like this, I am very thankful for the opportunity. Indie Pop band, Reverend and the Makers, has produced something that is very much worth listening to in ‘The Only One’. Grabbing the listener from the first bar, the song demands attention for the full three minutes and ten seconds.

Though their sound is very familiar, there is still nothing really like it being played on the radio today. With electronic instrumentals and limited lyrics, this is the dance song of the summer and deserves to be thrashed.

Based in Sheffield, England, Reverend and the Makers have been making waves for a few years now, with the chance of being Oasis’ supporting act on their last ever tour being the most impressive accolade in my opinion. Their fourth studio album, Thirty Two, was released in February this year, and if ‘The Only One’ is anything to go by, the album is definitely worth giving time to.

Be warned though, after listening to this track you will find yourself singing: “I want you to make me feel like I’m the only one, the only on-one”- out loud – all day. But it’s so worth it.
