AAAmusic: Who are you and where are you from?
The Deadmen from Washington, DC, USA.
AAAmusic: What inspired you to get into music?
I was inspired by my uncle, my stepfather, my mom, my Grandma. As for the genre, we as a band don’t subscribe to any genres. We write what we write – however it sounds is the “genre” it is.
AAAmusic: What have you done?
We’ve all done plenty on our own, but to me the question is what will we do together.
AAAmusic: What are you like live?
We’re loud, we’re quiet, we’re energetic, and at times relaxed. We try to cover it all. We haven’t toured yet. In our solo careers we all tried to create a demand for our music by playing shows. Now we’re approaching it differently, by releasing material and trying to create a demand for shows through our music. So hopefully we’ll be touring soon.
AAAmusic: What makes you different?
I think what separates us from other bands is we have three front men. Each capable of leading a band on their own. Each capable of writing records.
AAAmusic: Physical vs Downloading vs Streaming…How do you listen to music?
I typically will buy either vinyl, or digital. Rarely stream as I find it morally and ethically wrong.
AAAmusic: What have you been listening to?
Artie Shaw, Mr. Clarinet. Bowerbirds. Dr. Dog. I honestly don’t listen to music much, but those are a few I’ve been paying attention to lately.
AAAmusic: What are your aspirations for the future?
The EP (out now). 7 inch in April. Full length in summer. Hopefully touring UK/Ireland in August.
