Friday 7th March, Brussels

Right thoughts, right words, right actions. This is exactly the impression I have when we talk about Franz Ferdinand. Everything they do is right! And even this time they didn’t disappoint me.

The Scottish band formed in 2002 and released their fourth album Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Actions in August 2013, their first since 2009’s Tonight: Franz Ferdinand. They have recently started their tour and they are absolutely stunning. This gig of  in Brussels at the Forest National has been selected to be recorded live for an instant live album – fans were able to collect these special commemorative triple disc albums straight after the show. Tonight was absolutely perfect, and even though they were recording and more controlled than usual, it didn’t prevent them from jumping and rocking on.

The indie rock band (more rock than indie) warmed the fans with the opening songs ‘Bullet’ and ‘The Dark of The Matinee’. Then they made them sweat with their new hits ‘Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Actions’, ‘Evil Eye’ and ‘Love Illumination’ without forgetting all their great successes such as ‘Do You Want To’, ‘No You Girls’, ‘Take Me Out’, ‘Ulysses’ and ‘Lucid Dreams’ – they made the crowd burn with ‘This Fire’. Their fire was totally out of control and it could burn down the city!

Fran Ferdinand are made of vitality, fantasy, rhythm and fun, fun, fun; that makes it impossible to see their show without dancing. Alex Kapranos (voice), Nick McCarthy (guitar/keyboard), Bob Hardy (bass) and Paul Thomson (drum) really know how to be powerful, with the unmistakable sexy voice of Alex and the pulsating rhythm like an excited heart beats inside you.
