Berlin based songstress Dillon released her new single ‘You Cover Me’ last month. The Brazilian artist has made a captivating and enchanting track, with her quivering vocals striking my attention from the start. Her vocal delivery is beautiful and it works pretty well for this dark and trippy song. Even though the song works as a whole and the melody is powerful enough to carry the track, the production is not as exciting. It seems to me that it tends to stay in a safe zone and it’s not as adventurous as what Portishead or Massive Attack were doing 10 years ago. It’d be nice to see Dillon doing a more up beat, fun-loving tune. There’s nothing wrong with a bit of left-wing pop.
