‘Dumb Luck’ is the latest single to be released by Californian indie fiends We Are Scientists. Fans of the band will not be disappointed by this latest offering as it features all the hallmarks of a standard WAS single; a full-frontal approach, pure unadulterated drive, and harmonies as tight as an untouched balloon knot. The lyrics are as quirky as ever and the video is well worth a watch, unless you’re of an even slightly squeamish persuasion. So much fake blood. The verses have the typically rapid lyrical delivery that has come to be associate with the band whilst the end of the chorus gives a brief sign of harmonic release before the trio head band to the daily grind of unbridled energy.

Keith Murray and Chris Cain must have such a close relationship as they appear to be one of the most in sync pairings in current indie music. The band have long had a clear objective with regards to style and, while this new release may not really add anything new to the We Are Scientists canon, it’s almost undoubtedly a release that will please their fans.
