‘Slack Tide’ is a charming indie rock track accompanied by one of the most charming animated music videos to grace the surface in recent years. It has everything expected of an indie rock track; mellow guitar riffs, simple acoustic strumming patterns and an overall laid back, carefree vibe. The vocals are layered effortlessly over the instrumental accompaniment which breezes through seamlessly. While the song is upbeat it does however contain a subtle undertone of dissatisfaction and an overall sense of being fed up with the mundane and everyday life.

‘Slack tide’ is the second single to be released from Empty Pools’ debut album Saturn Returns and if ‘Slack Tide’ is anything to go by the album is set to be a treasure chest of laid back, fun loving indie rock tracks.
