I have really liked Iggy Azalea since I heard ‘Beat Down’ by Steve Aoki that she features on. Not a huge fan of tracks that were mainly rap, I completely fell for it – how could you not when there’s lyrics like “There’s a party on your face and I’m ‘bout to dance on it”?! I’ve got a lot of respect for her. She appeals to everyone; she’s sexy and attractive for straight guys and gay girls, and she’s empowering and headstrong for gay guys and straight girls. She’s doing exactly what she wants, she’s ‘Work’-ed for it… (ha), and she’s really good at what is generally dominated by men. This song features T.I. who recently appeared on summer juggernaut ‘Blurred Lines’. He does a splendid job, really classy and sophisticated. It goes hard straight in, really in-your-face, and doesn’t relent throughout – much like Iggy herself. The song itself is basically an encouragement to chase your dreams, which is much healthier and more positive than a lot of other tracks out there at the moment. I also like the hint of singing by Iggy here, it gives it a new spin. If this is what we can expect from The New Classic, I’ll be happy.
