Sports brand adidas (with a SMALL ‘a’) drop a new product (like it’s hot….sorry). Exclusive to Footlocker, the adidas Original Hardcourt Defenders collection is a fusion of oldschool, basketball-street and what is known as Hard Court silhouette. And who have they got to help rock these trainers out to the street? What’s his name? Snooooooop (formerly Doggy Dogg) Lion. That’s right, the Dr. Dre protégé and G-Funk gangsta rap big dog who has sold more than 30 million records worldwide. adidas plus Footlocker plus Snoop equals WOOF.

The West Coast rap legend has made a career out of fusing styles and crossing boundaries, which makes him the perfect ambassador for the Original Hardcourt Defenders; a sneaker that is both classic retro and 90s street.

Also on offer in, conjunction with the collection, is a fleece and nylon, full zip jacket, complemented by blue, white and grey colour blocks: the Colorado Fleece Raglan Full Zip.

This cool video, sponsored by Footlocker, features a skateboarding courier delivering the Original Hardcourt Defender sneakers to Snoop Lion, with the smiling delivery man crossing through a modern day, tribal celebration, and finally, with a bow, offering them up to the “king” – Snoop Lion, sat on his hip hop throne – via a couple of scantily clad females. Very gangsta.

Snoop seems to give his approval with a smile and some nods, strolling amongst his people wearing his new royal gifts. All this to banging Snoop Lion track ‘Here Comes The King’, a dub tinted electro stomper. All Hail The King.
