BOMBERS – Forecast

| On 13, Aug 2013

Bombers

After previous critically acclaimed tracks Bombers (Birmingham, England) chose to diminish their addiction to minimalist dark sound and moved their career on with a bit more challenging ‘Forecast’ single to be digitally released on August 5th.  Clinging on to nervous drum line, this brand-new track represents a laconic vigorous piece striving to break through the post-punk borders of total desolation.

The track sounds rather up-to-date than earlier “hats-off” to the classic 80s of  Manchester alternative music heavily felt before in Bombers start efforts. Today we experience psychic and expressive (although not leading to nervous breakdown) vocals, self-persuasive judgematical lyrics, attentive distinct guitars and addictive discursive rhythm.

Speaking in terms of sound discoveries and brave music riots, well yes.. we’ve heard all these post punk tricks before and cannot succeed in finding hidden acoustic gems underneath the plain melody of ‘Forecast’ but not always this kind of music was done with that touch of reasonable laconism and groovy structures.

Meanwhile, awaiting for Bombers to invent an unmistakable, individual post punk sound of their own. The fresh ‘Forecast’ single is a good basis for setting such an experiment, thou. Ironical enough to take the band into consideration and melodic enough to expect more sonic hits in the nearest future.
