LITTLE COMETS – ‘W-O-E’

Newcastle’s own ‘kitchen-sink Indie’ band Little Comets single ‘W-O-E’, taken from their second album Life Is Elsewhere is a solid example of Indie-Pop partnered with originality.
‘W-O-E’, being the tenth track listing is a more middle ground sound from Little Comets. Not as positive as ‘Jennifer’ or as dark as ‘Violence Out Tonight’ ‘W-O-E’, true to its name, has a constant theme of anticipation throughout, using sparsely placed bass drums coupled with the tracks tempo makes it too slow to be a standard Indie-Pop song similar to the likes of Jack Penate, instead heavily relies on the bands usage of guitar based effects and space to create a theoretically ‘liner’ song into a interesting and memorable listen.
The songs biggest asset comes from singer Roberts’s style of lyrical content, being consistently melodic whilst simultaneously working within a deeper level of meaning and authenticity makes Little Comet’s ‘W-O-E’ one to be listened too over and over.
Life Is Elsewhere released October 2012 is due for release in America later this year.
