THE DUNWELLS – Follow The Road

The Dunwells, the acclaimed British folk rock band, were formed in Leeds, Yorkshire in 2009 and they released their debut album Blind Sighted Faith in 2012.
The quintet comprises Joseph Dunwell (vocals, guitar), David Dunwell (banjo, vocals, guitars, piano ), Jonny Lamb (vocals, drums), Rob Clayton (bass, vocals) and Dave Hanson (vocals, lead guitar, pedal steel).
Follow The Road, their second album, is released on 1st July, 2013 on the Decca label. ‘Blind Sighted Faith’ is a very enjoyable track that’s confident and energetic, whilst the rousing ‘Hand That Feeds’, with it’s strong rhythms, has an element of funk. In ‘So Beautiful‘ the hesitant vocals move towards a passionate declaration of love and the catchy acoustic number ‘Goodnight My City‘ is rich and charming.
There are some great tunes in this fine, melodic album. With their easy, rootsy feel The Dunwells have been received enthusiastically in the USA and their impressive harmonies have largely contributed to their popularity and success.
