FIELD DAY: THE DESPERADOS FACTORY NEW LINE UP ANNOUNCEMENT
aaamusic | On 06, Apr 2013
We are very happy to announce that Desperados, the original tequila-flavoured beer, are bringing ‘The Factory’ to Field Day for the first time. Following the huge success of last year’s festival season, they’ve got another massive line up with some of the hottest new acts and DJs, a few long-standing heroes and a very special guest or two. Get ready for Desperado’s at Field Day 2013; it’s going to be BIG!
Confirmed for 2013 is legendary house and garage producer Todd Edwards, whose vocal reconstruction techniques and canon of classics from the early nineties has influenced everyone from Disclosure to Daft Punk. No wonder his fans call him ‘Todd the God’! Rising UK house stars Waze & Odyssey have taken Todd’s baton and run with it with the likes of ‘Love Attack’ becoming instant classics. Psychemagik have become known for their sensational disco re-edits of Fleetwood Mac and Haim, vast record collections and transcendent mix tapes. Last seen together in the Boiler Room we invite Lil Silva and Mele to play a back-to-back set of carnivalistic beats.
A regular presence on Rinse FM, Oneman has the rare ability to destroy any party blending records from disparate genres while sounding seamless as recent mix tape Solitaire Vol. 1 attests. We also welcome Dollop DJs, the guys behind one of the UK’s most exciting and pulsating electronic club nights to Victoria Park.
Also playing live on the Desperados stage will be four-piece from Black Butter records Clean Bandit, who call on an array of vocal collaborators to create their unique sound with a culture clash of bass, beats and soaring strings. We are also treated to a live set from Night Slugs. They are one of the most influential labels in bass music at the moment, and will be represented by its founder Bok Bokalongside power producer Girl Unit aka Philip Gamble.
