HANNAH SCOTT – Still Static

| On 25, Feb 2013

HANNAH SCOTT - Still Static
Graceful folk singer songwriter Hannah Scott describes her music as popular acoustic. She’s a guitarist and keyboardist who has supported Seth Lakeman and Ed Sheeran.

Her debut EP Still Static, released on 25th February, 2013 on Casa Music, was produced by collaborator and multi-instrumentalist Stefano Della Casa. It consists of four songs and an acoustic version which she began writing in Italy where, as a language graduate, she worked at an olive press.

In the fast paced Only Way Out strong vocals are accompanied by gentle instrumentation. Still Static is slower and the piano and cello set the backing for an emotional and beautiful song. The soft melody Your Lullaby is warm and enchanting. Reflective Days of Wine, with an upbeat mood, was written in the aftermath of a ruined relationship whilst Still Static (acoustic) is a contrast to the original version with quiet strings and percussion.

Hannah is likeable and interesting. She has a rich, distinctive voice and sharp, intelligent lyrics. You quickly realise there’s something special and inspiring about this fine artist. She’s charming, confident and articulate and you simply yearn for more.
