The Longsands – Little Britain
aaamusic | On 18, Feb 2013
Little Britain is the new single release by The Longsands. It is quite mellow and could fit into the rock genre with elements of other, more casual styles.
The vocalist’s voice is bright and warm, very enticing in expressing the emotions of the songs. Blended with the harmonies below, they create very intriguing musical direction and structure. Not an overly complex structure, but enough to provide interest in the right parts. The instrumentals are supportive of the vocals, but have enough melodic uniqueness to prevent the overall sense from becoming stagnant or stale. A strong rhythm is provided by the drums which aren’t overpowering, but at times can be a bit too quiet.
Overall, it is a very good small release, but definitely filled with promise as well as catchy. The rhythms of the melodies and the different ideas weave tracks that could be easily hummed while walking down the street.
