Dead Sons – The Hollers and the Hymns

Throbbing base, zinging grizzly guitar riffs and cool vocals. Sounds like Sheffield’s very own Queens of the Stone Age. It’s superbly catchy and full of electric energy. There’s nothing about the album that really stands out and grabs you, it all feels a bit like it’s been done before by similar bands. That being said, it really is a fun album to listen to and gets the brain cells dancing along with the shooting guitars. It feels done before but in a wonderfully comforting way if that makes any sense at all. Certainly worth a listen from under the covers on a moody rainy day.
