ROBERT VINCENT – Life In Easy Steps

Classic country singer-songwriter Robert Vincent, a Liverpudlian, has touches of blues, folk and and rock ‘n’ roll to his music and sounds a bit like Van Morrison and Johnny Cash. He’s not Mersey Beat, but his influences include The Beatles and Pink Floyd. In October, 2012 he was nominated for Male Artist of The Year at the Liverpool Music Awards.
His debut album Life In Easy Steps, released on 28th January, 2013 on the Demon Blue label, is preceded by the album’s title track as a lead single. The limited edition double CD has a 4 track bonus disc with tracks from earlier releases, all within a hardback book.
Robert explains: “Life In Easy Steps came from the frustration of yet more hurdles, closed doors and dead ends, personally and professionally. The constant dirge of dealing with hollow and lethargic people had come full circle and I was at breaking point.”
As an expressive acoustic artist, Robert is gently emotional but at times very strident. He says: “the more honest I am, the better people like it” and, with a raw, breezy and confident voice, searches for a musical perfection which he finds difficult to capture. “It’s always been music for me, one hundred per cent” he says with commitment and determination, so his debut album is unlikely to be his last. For those without excellent vision, just one tiny favour please Robert: could the handwritten lyrics in the booklet be a bit easier to read next time?
