Indie folk quartet Lavender Diamond are part of the ‘New Weird America’ movement in Los Angeles. They’re quirky, refined and complex.
The group comprises Becky Stark (vocals), Jeff Rosenberg (guitar), Steve Gregoropoulous (piano) and Ron Regé Jr. (drums). Strings are by the Calder Quartet , horn arrangements by Probyn Gregory and the psychedelic cover art by Regé.
Their single Everybody’s Heart’s Breaking Now is taken from Incorruptible Heart , their second album, released by Paracadute Records and produced by Damien Kulash and Dave Fridmann.
Everybody’s Heart’s Breaking Now is a dreamy, elegant waltz sung with a distinctive and rich soprano. It builds slowly in orchestration with a heart breaking melody. Becky sings with a fine, crystal clear voice, emotional and soulful, to create a simple, delicate and intimate song.
