What the Desert Taught You is the new album by Born Blonde. I would say that this album has rock elements, but it has its own distinct style, so is hard to definitely categorise.
The vocals are strong and convey a powerful emotion in the tracks; the melodies are interesting and create pleasant harmony with the music of the instrumental below it. The instrumentals are very intriguing, as their use of different effects to create different sounds helps to create a new and interesting sound that is pleasing to the ear. The vocals and the instrumentals marry quite well in this album, there is very little that can be pointed out about it in a negative light. The drums can sometimes feel very strong, but they don’t seem to overpowering and they do keep the beat very effectively with interesting rhythms.
Overall, this is a pleasant album with some interesting and intriguing sounds and ideas. A nice listen for when you want to relax.
