MACHINEDRUM: Live in London 23th November…
aaamusic | On 15, Nov 2012
The unique, the progressive, the amazing Travis ‘MACHINEDRUM’ Stewart is coming to London town.
Despite having prodcued some of the most intelligent and forward-thinking electronic music throughout the last ten years, Machinedrum’s extremely well received 2011 album Room(s) took things to another level – and his collaboration with Azelia Banks didn’t hurt either. The New York/Berlin producer fuses hectic jungle and jazz-laced hiphop with progressive house and bass-heavy IDM to create something wholly rewarding, and entirely individual.
Machinedrum’s three-hour show at Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Festival in France over the summer was not only the festival highlight, but also one of the most spectacular live sets AAAmusic has witnessed all year. Travis Stewart managed to create an electronic symphony of otherworldly beats and glitches that swept over the audience in (what felt like) three movements, each one showcasing a different part of the Machinedrum soundscape.
This show will now take place at the blinding Lightbox in Vauxhall next weekend, after initially being planned for the Village Underground earlier this month. Support comes in the form of Memory9’s new show, Ambassadeurs and fLako.
Brought to you by the increasingly dependable Soundcrash, along side The Upfront Project, this show is a must for any IDM fan!
