‘Frankie Said’ is ANOTHER collection of Frankie Goes to Hollywood songs, an 80s pop band that only ever released seven singles. This particular collection is a little different from other releases, and it contains different versions of the chart topping singles, alongside remixes and unreleased tracks – thus making it more of a diehard fan collector’s purchase. And believe me, Liverpudlian five-piece Frankie Goes to Hollywood were influential and great enough to warrant diehard fans.

Underappreciated singer Holly Johnson’s vocals are impressive as ever, and the bombastic synth-pop created by the rest of the band sounds surprisingly current in 2012. Buy this if you want to listen to a band that has had unrecognised influence on today’s musical landscape. Buy this if you miss Frankie Goes to Hollywood. Buy this if you miss the 80s.
