As a Welsh musician Al Lewis has been BBC Radio Cymru’s Best Male Artist for the last two years. He’s become increasingly well known and released two successful Welsh language albums. Supporters include DJs Steve Lamacq, Huw Stephens, Janice Long, Tom Robinson and Bob Harris.
Treading Water will be released on 12th November, 2012 on Kobalt Music Publishing. The single is taken from his second album Battles and recorded and produced by Charlie Peacock at his home studio in Nashville, Tennessee.
Fans will probably see this as a beautiful acoustic number supported by warm, gentle female vocals that help you pleasantly float away. They will find charm in the simple harmonies. Unfortunately, sceptics may feel that the song title is apt and that Al hasn’t moved forward with an inspirational or memorable song, merely something that feels comfortable.
