Creatures of Love – Boy Crimes

| On 23, Oct 2012

Creatures of Love release their second EP which sounds a bit like Evanescence meets trance and dream-pop. The first track, Knossos, is hypnotic with floating vocals and a haunting atmosphere. It’s a wonderful first track and is easily the best on the album. IV is another stand-out track, an eerie instrumental. It’s a dark and creepy grave-yard piece that wouldn’t sound out of place in a horror movie. Sutra Sweat has more of a pop beat to it, however it still sounds oddly surreal and eerie. Voyeurs has a cloudy pop sound to it, the vocals sounding very reminiscent of Amy Lee from Evanescence in places. The vocals are good on the album overall, however they do sound a little whiney in places. Voyeurs is one of the tracks that makes one doubt the vocal quality. Overall though it’s a good EP, an interesting mix of trance, pop and graveyard eeriness.
