A Plastic Rose – Camera. Shutter. Life.

British rockers, A Plastic Rose, release their debut album, Camera. Shutter. Life. – a loud and grizzly mix of pop-rock with great vocals and catchy hooks. The album starts with Build From The Ground Up – a lively, shouty and angsty opener which pulls the listener straight in. It’s wonderfully catchy and likable right from the start.
Skin provides a contrast from the loud and angsty… For about 30 seconds. The song starts sweet and slow before bleeding into a gritty and emotional track. Indian Sheets truly is a more contrasting number, showing a softer side to the band. The raw vocals give the song an emotional aura, it’s a lovely track.
The single, Boy Racer, is a delightfully loud track with catchy vocals and shooting guitars. A real stand out track. The album ends with Sun’s A Shadow, a slower track with melodic piano, guitar and harmonious vocals all drawn together to make a great closure. The British Rock scene is looking pretty sunny right now.
