Well, damn. This is the kind of track that makes me wish that “solid” didn’t have such negative connotations. People use the word “solid” when they want to say “That was nice enough but meant absolutely nothing to me” and that’s far, far away from what I mean when I say it, Break My Nose is the kind of dependable, nourishing guitar rock with enough spice to seem thrilling and just enough familiarity not to be seen as try-hard, but what it really does is peak ones interest in Bleech themselves. Consider this single, that on it’s own merits might be seen as lacking something really special, as a gateway drug into the band themselves and the plethora of absolutely cracking garage-pop singles that they possess. In that sense, Break My Nose signals the start of something that could be truly special. Not to be missed.
