New London based alternative folk/rock songwriter Will Miles releases his highly anticipated debut double A side single Shallow Water / Angela, on the 26th of November via new grassroots label Wildheart Records. A strong believer in the DIY ethos the single will be available as a limited run CD with handmade sleeves and alongside digital download.

 

‘Shallow Water‘ is an Americana drenched foot stomper swelling with dirty electric and slide guitars echoing the likes of Van Morrison, Neil Young and Dylan. “It’s about awakening a deep personal salvation where everything that was killing you fades and then sets you free” says Miles.

 

Double A-side ‘Angela‘ staggers mournfully with haunting harmonica, mandolin and pedal steel washing poignantly around Miles’ introspective lyrics. “The track is about solace, a long and lonely epic pilgrimage to lost love and a memorial to the dead”, adds Miles.

 

Although only a new boy on the scene Will has already impressed the likes of producer Pedro Ferreira (The Darkness, Joe Strummer & the Mescalero’s). Live, He has been busy catching the attention of London’s White Heat Club, Club Fandango, Symptomatic and Soul Food at Proud, where he has played sold out shows. With a recent support slot for Pete Doherty and slots at Cambridge Folk Festival, Mid Wales Music Festival and Uncivilized Festival, and with two of Miles’ demo’s being handpicked to be used in a short film for the BFI by upcoming director Christian Solimeno, the buzz around Will Miles looks only set to build.
