PAULCARRACK – Good Feeling

| On 16, Sep 2012

Paul Carrack is a Grammy Award winning English singer-songwriter and musician with a very distinctive voice. He’s been a part of several bands including Ace, Squeeze, Roxy Music and Mike and the Mechanics. More recently the emphasis has been on a solo career. With his 2010 album A Different Hat he re-working songs helped by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
Good Feeling, his sixth album, is a mixture of new songs and cover versions. It’s self-produced and released on 24th September, 2012 on the Carrack UK label. Paul plays most of the instruments himself.
Uplifting Marmalade Moon was co-written with Squeeze’s Chris Difford and the emotional and funky Nothing Without You is reminiscent of Average White Band in style. Paul was helped by songwriter Charlie Dore on the tribute to his hero Ray Charles, I Can Hear Ray. A very minimal backing helps the mood of the bluesy and beautiful Make It Right, written by Alex and Rolf Tinlin. If I Should Fall Behind is a gentle acoustic Springsteen ballad and Nick Lowe’s From Now On contains one of Paul’s most popular lines: Gonna do my level best to keep my nose clean.

Paul creates soulful, versatile and inspirational albums of great quality. He’s a talented and respected musician with a raw, haunting edge who sings with warmth, passion and honesty. Good Feeling is a likeable, classy album with a varied tempo and good use of light and shade.
