HOLY VESSELS
SINGLE “QUEEN OF ALIMONY” – RELEASED OCTOBER 1, 2012
Launched Pledge Music Campaign
LIVE DATES – Queen of Hoxton, London – 27th September
Sticky Mike’s Frog Bar, Brighton – 29th September
Following the recent success of debut single ‘Springtime Bloom’ which had plays on BBC 6 Music and was voted Communion Records track of the week, Holy Vessels, featuring on the front cover of Brighton Source Magazine are back, with their kaleidoscopic second single ‘Queen of Alimony’’, released on October 1st, 2012. This rocking second single stays true to the band’s ethos of hooks and harmonies while ushering in their own brand of muscular, sprawling psychedelia that is characteristic to the second side of their debut album ‘Last Orders At The Marshall Arms’, due for release in November on the band’s own label.
Having spent two years honing their blend of roots-flavoured rock & roll onstage at festivals (Glastonbury, Big Chill and Lounge on The Farm among others), support slots with The Maccabees, Boy & Bear & Cloud Control, regular appearances at London and Brighton’s Communion nights, and 2011’s River Rat Pack Tour (previous alumni: Mumford & Sons, Golden Silvers, Sound of Rum, Bastille), the band are preparing to release their debut album in November this year.
Last Orders At The Marshal Arms is an independent recording made with producer and ex-Del Amitri guitarist Iain Harvie over a two-week period in a worn-out lambing shed in Oxfordshire, the album was mixed in Brighton by the band and producer Jag Jago, fresh from his work on The Maccabees’ recent hit record.
Members Frank Ryan (vocals, guitar), Tommy Heap (piano/organ, vocals) Robert Mavers (bass, vocals), Joe Heaselgrave (guitar, lap steel, vocals) and Thom Mills (drums) will be self-releasing a single each month in the run-up to the album’s full release.
Holy Vessels have now teamed up with PledgeMusic, where pre-order copies and other exclusives are now available. www.pledgemusic.com/artists/holyvessels
