Hurricane is the new single from dance-pop duo, Chew Lips. It’s a vibrant piece of pop, the sort you’d imagine played at clubs, parties and discos. It’s the kind of song that has the energy to be the perfect song to dance to, however it’s nothing particularly special when you strip it down. To put it clearly, it’s not the kind of song you would listen to when sitting by yourself in your bedroom. It can not stand its ground as a piece of art when taken away from a party setting. Outside of a party setting it feels rather annoying, what with the cheesy backing vocals and typical post-Rihanna pop lead vocals. Pretty much your standard electronic dance-pop fusion, which is probably all it is intended to be. Nothing special, but an easy filler for a party playlist.
