“The rebel has a heart after all” said The Drums’ synth-man and Holiday Friends Recording Co. owner Jacob Graham in his appraisal of Two Wounded Birds’ self-produced debut album, “and maybe he feels more deeply than the rest of us”.

Rock’n’roll dreamers Two Wounded Birds recently released their self-titled debut album on Graham’s label following a clutch of critically acclaimed singles & EPs, winning fans the world over and playing shows with the likes of Glasvegas, The Black Lips and indeed The Drums (who Two Wounded Birds front man Johnny Danger joined onstage for their recent Roundhouse headline show). Now, they’re set to release ‘To Be Young’ – the album’s lead single – on August 5th.

A frantic yet beautiful piece of perfect pop, ‘To Be Young’ is one of the standout tracks on the quartet’s debut album. Blending nostalgic lyrics with driving, fast-paced guitars that verge on upbeat, the overwhelming feel of it is nothing short of bittersweet.

With such a positive response to their debut album, Two Wounded Birds are poised to launch into their first headline tour this October. Flaunting a live sound that switches between Ramones style adrenaline punk and echo heavy, sci-fi inflected surf rock, the band are more than ready to take their unique rock’n’roll stylings on the road.
