Strip Steve debut album now available

While the common pattern through Strip Steve’sdebut album is clearly his own sense of rhythm & melody and his distinctive rich, sweet & mellow backbone, we also discover a whole new variety of unexpected styles and colors that take us deeper into the corners of his creative mind.
Bright & dark, fast & slow, the French boy who relocated to Berlin touches on a bit of everything, striking different cords within us. If we feel the sound is purposely left untamed (‘Micro’, ‘Skate Control’, ‘Don’t Know When’) Strip Steve always has a way of making electronic music accessible everyone any time of the day or night.
On ‘Astral Projection’ (the first official single from the album) he teams up with the lucid and wild eyed dream-pop duo Puro Instinct (from L.A.), young protégées of living legend Ariel Pink, to create a flirty and emotional dark disco track.
‘Stomp’ and ‘Radiocheck’ showcase a style we’re familiar with from Strip Steve’s previous releases while ‘Skate Control’ takes it up a notch and was created from a needle jumping randomly on a record over a TR-707 beat. The result is raw, complex & incredibly funky.
On ’One Thing’ he goes back to the old school basics of Chicago House (a passion he always communicated in his various DJ sets) and features one of his heroes, the legendary Robert Owens on vocals to create a stripped down and hypnotic dancefloor number.
‘Micro Mega’ is not a concept album in the strict sense of the term, nor a simple compilation of unrelated tracks. It is the reflection of our modern generation who grew up incorporating a wide variety of musical references and in equal measure.
Strip Steve will be playing at London’s The Nest on August 17th along with fellow Boynoise Records artist SCNTST.
