The Ironweed Project is vocalist, writer and producer, Aniff Akinola’s latest music project. The album has a blues style to it, mixed with modern influences like dubstep and rock. The album opens with The Whole World On Fire, which has a hip hop style to it. A Little Love is catchy and endearing with its cute lyrics mixed with a rapping style rhythm in places and wavering electric guitar. The whole album shows a nice range of different styles fused together, it’s a very diverse piece of work. Fat City has a lovely funk style to it, whereas Making All Kinds Of Music has more of a blues feel, mixed with Jimi Hendrix-esque guitars. There’s something on here for everyone and some brilliant musicianship to be found, especially on electric guitar and the rhythm of the vocals.
