There is no doubt about the classic rock influence, from bands such as Queen and Pink Floyd, on Shifting Buffalo’s new single ‘Step by Step’.
The resonating arpeggiated guitar sounds like something from The Eagles and this, combined with Ben Fuller’s (Buffalo’s real name) Noel Gallagher-like vocals makes for a very interesting sound. The track is pretty sombre and downbeat, but does almost make up for this with an unexpected guitar solo and introduction of a distorted guitar. Overall, though, the repetition of the chorus makes for a slightly monotonous song. Still, it’s easy to listen to and Buffalo’s guitar skill is obvious, so worth a listen.
